Yarn Wrapped “JOY”

I can’t believe Christmas is only a week away! I wanted to share with you a very quick decoration that you can make before the big day gets here.

Here’s what you need:

Wrap each of your letters with the yarn.  To begin, apply some tacky glue to the backside of your first letter. (I added about an inch of glue.) Secure your yarn, and then start wrapping. This is a good activity to do while watching your favorite Christmas movie.

When you are done, trim your yarn, and then glue the end on the wrong side of the letter. Let dry.

Then you want to add the embellishments. You can either glue them to the letters with the tacky glue, or break out the glue gun.

Finally, glue the letters together so they overlap a little. (I used the glue gun for this.) You can end here if you want to display your “JOY” on the mantel, but if you want to hang it, glue some ribbon onto the back.  EnJOY!

I’ve seen these letters before but wasn’t really sure how they went together. Thanks for the tutorial – I’m thinking I may need my name all strung up in yarn!
