Welcome pumpkin pie season with a cute, and festive banner of pumpkin pie pennants!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Orange felt
- Tan felt
- White pom-poms
- Jute twine
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Marker, pencil, or pen
To begin, fold your orange felt square the long way, and cut on the fold. Leaving the 2 cut pieces sandwiched together, use your marker, and ruler to divide your felt into triangles.
For the crust, cut 1/2-inch wide strips of felt from the long edge of the tan felt.
Figure out how long your want your finished banner, and cut a length of jute. Evenly space your triangles along the jute, and use hot glue to adhere them.
To form the crust, glue the end of one of the tan strips to the top, left edge of the triangle–covering the jute. Fold the strip backwards onto itself to form a ripple, and add glue behind the ripple to adhere, and then in front of the ripple to adhere.
Fold the strip backwards onto itself again, to create a ripple that sits next to the first ripple you made–continue this gluing and folding process all across the top of each triangle
Glue a white pom-pom to each slice of pie, to represent the whipped cream–I used 1-inch pom-poms, but feel free to use larger ones, if you prefer more whipped cream on your pumpkin pie
