Make a window card with your favorite embossed texture

Say,” Hello” to someone with this cute little fairy enjoying the flowers through the window of the card.  The texture added from your favorite embossing folder makes this window card even more fun.  Choose this design or one of your own for all of the occasions where you need it a card.  This technique is a very versatile one that will add to any theme.

This card is cut and scored so that the entire front of the card base will fit into an embossing folder so that it is completely textured.  This particular base is 4 ½” x 6 ½” and will fit nicely into the Flower Embellishments Embossing Folder by Sizzix.

Place the die that you wish to use for the window on the front of the open card and run it through your die cut machine.

Now, add a piece of cardstock using a tape runner to the inside of the card that is the same size as the front cover.  In this case, the cardstock was 4 ½” x 6 ½”.

Place the front of the card only inside of the embossing folder and run it through your embossing/die machine to emboss.

Add some color and sparkle to the embossed area using either glitter and glue and placed on with a paint brush or a glitter glue.  Here I placed a dab of glitter glue onto a paper towel and used a second paper towel to pick it up and brush it over the embossed area.   Keep adding until you are happy with the results and then allow to completely dry.

Die cut the Fanciful Fairy from cardstock and add some 3-d adhesive to the back of it.  Lay this aside.

Cut two rectangles from cardstock and layer them together using the tape runner.  These rectangles measure 1 ¼” x 2” and 1” x 1 ¾”.  Place the sentiment onto the top layer.

Attach the sentiment and the fairy to the front of the card to complete the outside and add a sentiment to the inside.

The next time you want to say, “Hello” or send any special sentiment use this card design to do it.  Between the fairy die cut, the texture and the window this card will stand out and catch the eye of many.  It’s the perfect design for any occasion.

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today!
