Create a fun reusable bag to haul around all your summer gear. This is a great project to do with the kids, or just to have some fun creating on your own.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Tulip Color Me Canvas Shoulder Tote Blank White
- Pom Poms
- Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Permanent Fabric Adhesive
- Fabric Markers
To begin, choose what kind of doodle would best suit having a pom-pom embellishment. I decided on a summer theme for my bag, and so I first drew a flamingo. I drew a circle a little smaller than my pom-pom to use as a reference, then I drew the rest of my flamingo’s body.
After you finish your drawing, use a nice sized dot of glue to adhere your pom-pom.
To make ice cream cones, draw a small triangle, and add crisscrossed lines inside. Glue pom-poms on top for the scoops of ice cream. Try making animals, or flowers, use pom-poms as hair for cartoon people.
Use your fabric markers to add other doodles, or embellishments to your bag.
Finally, use a black marker to make lines, write words, add a border, and doodle small pictures onto your bag to give it a thoroughly “doodled” look.
