I have been finding all kinds of ideas of things to crochet, and I am excited to share them with you! My next little goodie involves these cute little flowers, and just in case you didn’t have a Grandma Fluffy that taught you to crochet like I did, I thought I would teach you the simple stitches that are needed to make these flowers.
We start off easy, just chain (ch) 5. Then you are going to slip stitch (sl st) into the 1st ch to form a ring.
Then you are going to chain (ch) 1, and then work 9 single crochets (sc) into the loop, and slip stitch (sl st) into the chain (ch) 1.
You know have the center of your flower complete. To make the petals you are going to chain (ch) 3. Double crochet (dc) in the next stitch.
In that same stitch you are going to triple crochet (tr), and then another double crochet (dc).
You finish off the pedal with a slip stitch in the next stitch.
Repeat the petal steps until you are all the way around and have 5 petals.
Here is a more compact version of the pattern.
- Round 1 – ch 5, sl st into 1st chain to form a ring/loop.
- Round 2 – ch 1, Work 9 sc into loop. sl st to ch 1.
- Round 3 – *ch 3, (dc, tr, dc) in same stitch. sl in next sc*. Repeat sequence between *s until 5 petals are made ending with a sl st into last sc.
- Finish off.
And don’t forget to come back next week to see what we will make with this pattern!
