A perfect card for a friend who's feeling down or for a rainy day

Whether it’s an actual rainy day outside or just a rainy day that someone is having, it is always nice to know that there is a friend thinking of you.  This card will shower the receiver with love the instant she opens it.  Tell someone that you care today!

Begin with a 5” x 7” card base that was created from cardstock cut with a paper trimmer and scored in half with a scoring board to get a crisp, easy foldable edge.  Attach a 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” piece of patterned paper to the front of the card by using a tape runner along the edges of the paper.  You do not want to have tape in the center of the paper or it will make it difficult when you cut the window.

Cut the window using your favorite shaped die and die cutting machine.  A rectangle die works well to create this.

Using the die you used in the previous step and the one that is one is size smaller in the set, create a frame to go around the opening on the card front.  Attach it using the glue pen.

Open the card and stamp the image onto the right hand side of the card.  This stamp is the Puddles of Love stamp by Santoro Gorjuss.

Punch the clouds and raindrops using the Cloud Icon Punch by Martha Stewart and attach them using a glue pen.

Punch or die cut several heart from red cardstock and adhere them above the stamped image.

Color the stamped image using colored pencils or markers to finish off the card.

Turn a rainy day into a day filled with love with this cute “hello” card.  It’s a simple way to bring a smile to someone’s face and heart and to let her know that she is in your thoughts.  Create one for all of your friends and bring a smile into their day, too!

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today!
