Nothing goes together more perfectly than Mac and Cheese. Make your own cute Mac and Cheese charms in this tutorial that is perfect for the beginner polymer clay artist but fun enough for any experience level.
What you need:
- polymer clay in yellow, tan, black (I used Sculpey III)
- head pins
- jump ring
- jewelry pliers: flat, rounded, cutters
- Sculpey clay tools style and detail 3 pc. (we will only be using the smallest detail tool)
- Premo! Sculpey Mini Metal Cutters 12 pc. Basic Shapes
Flatten some yellow clay to about 1/4 inch of thickness. Cut out a triangle using your mini clay cutter.
Using your smallest detail tool press into your clay to create cavities for eyes. Roll out tiny black balls of clay.
Gently press the eyes into the cavities and give it a smile with a tiny bit of rolled out black clay.
Create indentations into the cheese using the detail tool to give it a classic cheese look.
Mix 1 part yellow and 2 parts beige to create a noodle color.
Roll out the clay into a long cylinder shape.
Create holes on each end of your noodle using the detail tool. Do not insert it too deep just enough for the look. Give your noodle a face just like we did with the cheese wedge.
Insert head pins. Bake for 15 minutes at 275. When your charms are cooled, trim your head pins to where about 1/2 inch is showing and curl them with rounded pliers to create a loop. Add a jump ring and use the charms on anything you like.
