Learn how to use a stamp placement tool and layering stamps to make this cute card!

It’s easy to add different colors to your stamps now with the many layered stamps by We R Memory Keepers.  This little bird is the perfect example of it.  The new stamp placement tools make it even easier to create the perfect look for any card and here’s just one example!

Place your desired size of cardstock into the stamp placement tool.  This tool is the Stamp Perfect by Hampton Art.  Add the first layer stamp on top of the paper where you want the image to be placed and close the lid.  Lift the lid and add the ink to the stamp and close it again and lightly press down.  Now your first layer has been stamped onto the cardstock.  Continue adding each of the layers and stamping them until you have completed the image.  It’s that easy!

This is one example of what the little bird will look like when finished.  I varied the design from the manufacturer’s instructions by stamping the last image in the same ink color as the first image I had stamped.  This made the black inked areas stand out more to give them depth.  If you’d like your image to have the wonderful look as on the packaging, We R Memory Keepers has the ink pads just for that look, too.  How great is that?

For this card, the bird was stamped on a 5” x 5” piece of cardstock and then the card was layered with a 5 ½” x 5 ½” piece of patterned paper from the Sketchbook line by Graphic 45 and then onto a piece of 6” x 6” cardstock that has been used for the card base.  All were adhered using a tape runner.

You can tone down the white cardstock some by using a brown ink pad and blending tool to add ink from the edges into the center and then finish it off by darkening the edges of the paper with the ink pad.

Stamp the sentiment onto the piece using your favorite sentiment stamps.

Punch the branches for this design using the branch punch by Martha Stewart and adhere them around the card using a glue pen.

Your card is now finished and ready to share.

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today!
