Make some cute Valentine’s Day sugar cookie charms with polymer clay. These charms could be turned into a cute pair of earrings to wear to work or school on Valentine’s Day. They are cute enough to wear any day of the year.
What you need:
- polymer clay: in your choice of colors (I used Sculpey III in white, pink, red and beige for the cookie part)
- hobby blade
- Liquid Fimo
- eye pins
- painters palette
- jewelry pliers: cutters
- chalk pastels
- paint brush
- Premo! Sculpey Mini Metal Cutters 12 pc. Basic Shapes
Roll out thin canes of clay the thickness of pencil lead in your choice of colors for sprinkle topping. Set aside in a baking pan.
Flatten beige clay between 1/8 – 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out your cookies using your heart cutter. Gently smooth the edges so they are rounded to give it a more realistic look.
Flip your cookies over and paint on some finely shaved dark tan chalk to give the bottoms a baked look. Trim eye pins and insert them into your cookies. Bake your cookies and sprinkles at 275 for 5 minutes.
After your work is cooled lay your sprinkles out and cut them into tiny rods.
Tear small pieces of clay (your color choice) and place them onto a pallet. Add Liquid Fimo to the clay.
Mix up the Liquid Fimo and clay with a tooth pick till you have a smooth spreadable consistency. If it’s too thin, add more clay and if it’s too thick, add more Liquid Fimo.
Spread your Frosting onto your cookie with a toothpick. Next drop sprinkles on top the frosting. Bake your frosted cookies for 20 minutes at 265.
