Customize your four folds card for any season or holiday!

This great four fold card design is perfect for your holiday cards or a card for any occasion.  Add your favorite papers and embellishments to tell a story as the pages are turned or highlight fun ideas for the theme of the occasion.  It will be one design in your design stash that you will enjoy dressing up with a lot of your favorite embellishments.

1

Start the card by cutting a piece of cardstock that measures 11 ½” x 5 ½” using your paper trimmer.

2

Score the cardstock into four sections by scoring at ¼”, 3 ¾” and 7 ¼”.

3

Turn the piece lengthwise with the ¼” score line at the top of the score board and score a line down at 5/8” and only scoring down to the 7 ¼” line.  Do not go over that line.

4

Trim and remove the strip that was created with the last score line.

5

Lay the card so that the taller piece is on the table facing up and the rest of the cardstock is on your left.  Fold the paper at the first score line from the left to right and then fold it again on the next score back to the left. Fold the flap back to the right as shown above.  The card base has been folded using the accordion fold technique.

6

As you may have already noticed, the card has only 3 panels.  Now it’s time to create the fourth.  Cut a piece of cardstock that measures 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”.

7

Lay the panel that you just created onto the card lining it up with the flap.  Mark the edge above the panel.  Now use a pair of scissors to trim that extra piece off.  Attach the panel to the card using a tape runner.

8

Now, cut 5 pieces of cardstock to use for the first layer of your card.  These pieces will be the ones that you will embellish.  Two should measure 2 ½” x 4 ½”, two more at 3” x 4 ½” and one at 3 ¾” x 5”.

9

Also, cut five pieces of patterned paper.  Two pieces should measure 2 5/8” x 4 5/8”, two more at 3 ¼” x 4 ¾” and one at 4” x 5 ¼”.  This paper is the Snow Fun collection by Carta Bella.

10

Layer the pieces of cardstock onto the patterned paper and then attach them to the card with a tape runner.

11

Add some color to the cardstock with a blending tool and a matching ink pad.

12

Stamp and die cut with your die cut machine your embellishments.  This is the Snow Place Like Home die set by Sizzix.  Add a snowflake from the Snow Fun sticker sheet by Carta Bella to cover the hole that is die cut into the hat. You can, also, add the sticker border to each of the sections of the card.

13

Stamp the sentiment to complete the card.

This four-fold card is easy to make and is great to showcase the theme of any occasion.  Use it to tell a story or highlight your favorite embellishments.  It will definitely be a card design that you find yourself using over and over.

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today!
