This cute knotted hair bow is a fast, fun, and very easy sewing project that’s also great for using up all of your scraps. Make them for the little girls in your life, or for yourself!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Knotted Hair Bow PDF.
- Fabric scraps.
- Sewing machine.
- Sewing pins.
- Darice Alligator Hair Clips 1 1/4 in. Nickel.
- Elastic pony tail bands.
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks.
To begin, print the hair bow pattern, and cut out the pattern for the size bow you want to make. Fold your fabric in half, and pin the pattern so the word FOLD is positioned on the fold. Cut out 2 pieces.
Open up the folded pieces, and pin them right-sides together.
Starting at the straight part of the bow, about 1-inch away from where the fold was, begin your sewing. Continue sewing all the way around, keeping your seam about 1/4-inch away from the edge, and leaving a 1-inch hole at the end so you can turn the bow right-side out.
Carefully clip the curved edges of the bow to help make neater edges when you turn the seam.
Using the hole you left, turn the bow right-side out. It may help to use the eraser end of a pencil to turn it out.
Tie your bow into a knot. Using your hot glue gun, glue an alligator clip to the back. Another alternative is to tie the bow directly onto an elastic pony tail band, and add a dab of hot glue inside the knot to secure it.
Great for little girls, big girls, or even mom–these cute bows are a fun, and easy accessory to make.
