DIY Baby Monster Toy

This summer I had some friends with kids visit me and wanted to make a quick gift. This baby monster proved to be so popular I’ll be making some for holiday presents later this year.

Difficulty Level

Cut two circles of fur fabric that are 6” across.

With fur sides facing each other sew circles together leaving a 3” gap. If you don’t have a sewing machine then hand sew with a needle.

Turn right side out.

Pick out eyes for your monster.

Cut small holes where you want eyes to be. Push eyes through holes.

Push metal washers onto plastic stems to secure eyes into place.

It’s alive!

Fill monster with stuffing until full.

Hand sew gap closed with matching thread.

Admire your work.

Now the only thing to do is decide if you need to keep this little ball of cuteness or if you’ll give him away!

About Stephanie

Hello everyone. I’m Stephanie and I’m so happy to be the Yarn and Needlework contributor for Think Crafts. A friend taught me to crochet back in 2000 and I’ve been hooked on fiber crafts ever since. Knitting soon followed, then spinning, needle felting and sewing joined the team. I love making my own clothes and home accessories. Making clothes from thrift store finds is one of my passions. Creating fun monsters out of sparkly yarn is my current obsession. I blog about my crafty creations and belly dancing at Twillight Kallisti.
