Time for School Card

It’s hard to believe that it’s back to school time already.  This year send your kids or teacher off right with this fun back to school card.  It will brighten the first day for anyone who receives it.

Create a 5” x 7” card base from cardstock.  Also cut a 4” x 6” piece of cardstock that will match the colors of the project.  Cut a third piece from writing paper that measures 3 ¾” 5 ¾”.  Add more of a fun look at use this amazing Notebook Page stamp by Hero Arts to create your own paper.

Attach each piece to the front of the card using a tape runner.

Place each piece on the base at an angle.

Now, die cut 3 letters from patterned paper using an alphabet die set and die cutting machine.  The patterned paper shown is from the Studious Collection by Authentique.

Attach each letter to the writing paper using a glue pen and allow them to dry.

Also, attach the tags (the photo cards) onto the project.

Add a line of glue down the side of a pencil and carefully position it onto the card.  Allow it to dry completely before moving it.

Finish the inside of the card by adding a 4” x 6” piece of cardstock.  Then, write a special handwritten note on it letting the person that is receiving it know that you are cheery them on their first day back.

This year brighten someone’s day by sending them on their way with this special card.  Stick it in a backpack or a lunch bag for an added surprise during the day.  Give it to your favorite teacher to start his or her year off right.  No matter what purpose you use it for it is bound to bring a smile.

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today! Check out Peg's blog, Peg's Crafting Corner to see what else she has been up to!
