This little charm bag is so versatile. Sometimes I call it a fairy bag and fill it with pretty stones. Other times I fill it with sweets. Change up the colors and charm to personalize this gift for a multitude of occasions. The crochet chain handles tighten up the bag to keep any hidden gems safely inside.

Directions
This project doesn’t have a gauge because the bag size is up to you. After choosing your yarn pick a hook size that gives you good stitch definition without squeezing the stitches too tight. For my charm bag I used Sport weight yarn and a size E hook.
RND 1
CH 5, join into a ring
CH 3 (the CH 3 will count as your first stitch for each round)
Work 11 DC in ring
Join round with SL ST to top of CH 3 (each round will end with this type of join)
12 STS
RND 2
CH 3, DC into first stitch, then 2 DC into every stitch
24 STS
RND 3
CH 3, *DC around row, 2 DC into every second stitch*
36 STS
Continue in DC for eight more rounds
HANDLE ROUND
This round is more “open” so handles can be woven through
CH 4, *DC one stitch, CH1 skip one stitch*, the CH1 “floats” over the skipped stitch
RUFFLE
Tie on eyelash yarn to current yarn. I find eyelash yarn too thin to use solely as trim. Combining it with the current yarn gives the ruffle more structure.
RND 1
CH 3, 2 DC into one stitch, *DC, 2DC until end of row*
RND 2
CH 3, 2 DC into one stitch, *DC, 2DC until end of row*
Bind Off
Weave in ends
HANDLES
*Crochet a 12” crochet chain. Weave handle end into the “Handle Row” under the ruffle. Tie ends together and weave in ends into chain.*
*Make 2*
CHARM
With needle and thread sew on charm to body of bag. Center between handles.
Fill with tiny goodies and give someone a special gift!
