Kids’ Crafts: Crafting in Nature

5 Flares 5 Flares ×

With summer upon us and warmer weather in our forecasts, why not get outside to collect some supplies for your crafting projects? Not only does this save you from your DIY being more expensive than the real thing (c’mon, we’ve all been there) but it gives your projects a super natural look and your munchkins a chance to be a scavenger outside. From your backyard to your local park to the walking trails down the road, there’s crafting inspiration everywhere!

Nature Made Stamps

Nature Made Stamps

These stamps have your kiddos collecting, assembling, and creating all in one project! With all of the different flowers and foliage everywhere you look, the possibilities are all but endless.

Printing with Leaves – Mommy Labs

This mommy was using leaves from the Himalayas, but I’d say leaves from that tree in your front yard will work out pretty well too! This project just goes to show that you can still craft with your kids even while you’re on holiday.

Nature Collage Suncatcher – Hands On As We Grow

Bring your kids on a scavenger hunt and display your findings in a cool way! This Hands On mom hung these in her window so the sunshine could do its thang and her kiddos could show off their masterpieces.

Pressed Flower and Leaf Bookmarks – Buggy and Buddy

I don’t know about you, but my ideal summer involves a continuous supply of good books to accompany me in the sunshine. These bookmarks are fun to make, summery and natural, and perfect as a gift or a project for yourself – hey, you need to remember your page number too!

Rustic Twig Frame – Hipster’s Tea Party

This picture frame isn’t quite a toddler craft, but rather something fun to do with your slightly older kids to add a touch of nature to your home. Once you get the twig base, you’re free to customize to your liking! This DIY mama knows her hip crafts.
