My best gift today is spending a wonderful day and meal with my entire family. Merry Christmas to everyone.

I have always wanted to try quilling! Looks like fun!
Did not do much for Christmas this year. It has been a hard year with losing my Mom in October. But yesterday I set up a sideboard in my dining room that was a dresser that belonged to my Mom, and placed on it some of her very special things… a lamp she loved, some candlesticks and a bowl. I feel like it is a special gift from her.

My son’s girlfriend is learning how to crochet and she made me a scarf and headband in my favorite color – and she did this before she even met me! I really appreciated the thought and time she put into this gift.

We give each other simple gifts. I love the thought that went into each one. One special one was a cd of Finnish music my son bought at a concert given by the performers.

One of my kids gave me a tin letter R that has battery operated (and timed) tiny lights on the front. Gives just the right amount of sparkle sitting atop my hoosier. Rustic charm.

My favorite gift this year… it’s tough to choose just one! For me, I think I’ll have to go with the clarity and support my friends give me, when I let them 🙂

My favorite gift was bringing my mom to my home from the nursing home to have dinner with us. She has dementia. She was very clear headed today and really enjoyed her food and gifts. Our day was almost like old times!
