World Teacher Day Diorama Card

October 5th is World Teacher’s Day.  Celebrate your favorite teacher or teachers with this fun diorama card.  They’re easy to make so if you need more than one it won’t be a problem.  It will actually be a lot of fun!

1

Begin by cutting 2 pieces of cardstock that measure 5 ½” x 8 ½”.  Cut a second piece that measures 5 ½” x 6 ½”.

2

Score the first two pieces at 2” and 6 ½” using a scoring board.  Fold the flaps towards the front on these pieces.

3

Score the third piece of cardstock that you cut at 1” and 5 ½”.  Fold the flaps towards the back on this piece.

4

Now, using one of your favorite dies (Labels Four by Spellbinders used here) and your die cut machine cut a window through one of the larger pieces and the one center piece.  Lay all of the parts aside for the time being.

5

Choose a sticker or other embellishment and attach it to a sheet of matching cardstock.  This is the school desk for the Teacher’s Pet Kit by Echo Park.

6

Fussy cut around the embellishment with a pair of scissors.

7

Attach it on the inside of the window using a tape runner.  This will be the center piece you use for this.

8

Add strips of double sided taped down each flap.

9

Add a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” sheet of patterned paper (this sheet is from Teacher’s Pet) to the inside of the back.  Line up the flaps of the center piece with the score line on each side of the back piece and attach it.

10

Decorate (stickers are from the Teacher’s Pet line by Echo Park) the front piece and then line up the flap on the front and back and attach them together using the double sided tape.

11

This is what the card will look like when it is folded to be placed inside the envelope.

Get creative this October and celebrate this day or any of your favorite days with this easy and fun card! Don’t stop with just one day use if for any time of year and holiday by changing the theme with matching paper and embellishments.  There’s always a time to create an awesome card like this one!

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today!
