Send some summer fun with this starburst card. It’s great for just saying “hello” or any occasion that you need a card for giving. Change the paper, change the design, too!
Begin by cutting the following sized rectangles from 6 pieces of your favorite patterned paper. Cut two at 2” x 1 ½”, two at 3” x 1 ½”, one at 4 x 1 ½” and one at 4 ½” x 1 ½”.
Then, place them in the paper trimmer from corner to corner as shown in the picture and cut them in half.
Add the pieces to the smaller rectangle using a tape runner. You will need to play around with the pieces to get them to fit properly together. Remember to leave a space in between each one. The paper used for this design was, “Let’s Polka, Mon Amie “6” x 6” paper pad by Lawn Fawn and” Beachside” 6” x 6” paper pad by Lawn Fawn.
Trim off all of the excess pieces using a paper trimmer so they meet at the edge of the backing. Make sure to do this on all sides of the rectangle.
Adhere this piece to the pink rectangle that was laid aside earlier.
Cut one 2” circle from white cardstock and one 2 ¼” circle from black cardstock using a set of dies and a die cutting machine or a circle cutter and glass mat and layer them on top of each other securing them with a tape runner.
It’s really easy to get creative with this card just by changing it up a little. Be creative and add your favorite papers and embellishments this summer. Just like with summer, card making is the time to have fun!
