Fashionable Friends All-Occasions Card

Friends like fashion, shopping and spending time with each other, but sometimes that is impossible to do.  Send this card to someone that you are thinking of or are wishing you could be spending time with doing some shopping.  Add a little note with your shopping itinerary and maybe she’ll decide to join you!

card6

Begin the card by creating a card base from card stock (black card stock used) that measure 7” long by 10” wide on a paper trimmer and score it in the center using a scoring board. Fold it in half at the score line so that you have a 5” x 7” base.

card5

Add a 5 7/8” x 6 7/8” piece of red card stock to the card base using a tape runner to adhere it.

card4

Trim the patterned paper to 4 ¾” x 6 ¾”.  The Couture Chic pattern from the Couture Line by Graphic 45 was used on this card.  Attach it to the card, using a tape runner, so that it is slightly off centered to the left.  The top left corner should meet up to the left edge of the card base.  The top of the paper may reach above the card base just a little.

card

This is what the card will look like at this point.  See how the patterned paper is slightly off center from the rest of the card base?

card1

Create the sentiment layer by using the Dress Form Embossing Folder by Sizzix and a die cut machine.   This piece was created using a blue sheet of card stock from Paper Accents.  Cut the embossed card stock down to 3 3 ½” x 5 5/8” so that it will fit at an angle along the left edge of the card.

card7

Stamp the sentiment next to the dress form in black ink with the stamp on an acrylic block.  Attach the piece to the base using a tape runner.

card3

Trim a 7” long piece of lace with a pair of scissors and glue (Aleene’s Glue used for this) it to along the left side of the card making sure to cover the edges of each layer.

Sew some thread through the holes of 3 buttons and then glue them to the lace making sure there is 1 ¼” from the top and bottom edges and 2” between each of the buttons.

Share this card with your best friends to say that you are thinking of them.  Use it to invite them on a shopping trip for some added fun to the day!  Any way that you choose to use this will bring some fun into someone’s day.

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today! Check out Peg's blog, Peg's Crafting Corner to see what else she has been up to!
