Little girls can make these cute play dolls on a summer afternoon. Use wooden peg figures to create a playset of tiny dolls that can be played with time and time again. I like to paint simple eyes on the little dolls with no mouth, this leaves the dolls open to be played with in any situation and they can have any emotion the child wants. It leaves more to the imagination and leads to more creative play.
First, I used Washi tape to cover the shoulder area. I used the tape because it can form around the curve easier than trying to glue paper. I also used tape around the bottom because I used a decorative punch to create a lace pattern on the “dress” and I wanted to create an under layer.
Next, I cut a strip of paper to wrap around the body of the peg doll and used a paper punch to create the decorative edge. I glued the paper around the midsection of the body.
Once the glue was dry, I painted on a hair style using a small brush. Next, I used a toothpick to dot on eyes. Let the paint dry. Now the doll is ready for play time.
