Pom Pom Caterpillars

My little one is a morning person, which basically means she wakes up super early even on the weekends.  So before my oldest even opens an eye, my little one is usually up for hours and ready to play and have some fun.  I have found that I can usually keep her quiet by doing some fun crafts with her.

Her daycare just got done releasing the butterflies they were raising and my daughter thought the whole process from caterpillar to butterfly was neat.  Since she talked about it so much, I thought it might be fun to make these pom pom caterpillars with her.  She had so much fun making these and picking the different colors to make them.  They now sit on her dresser in her room, awaiting to turn into butterflies.  Um I have a feeling she might get a little disappointed when they don’t change, so our next craft may have to be some butterflies!

I am a work at home mother of two living just outside Kansas City, KS. I started crafting with my oldest daughter to spend more time with her and to get her to focus more. And I have to say it has been a great experience for us both. As a matter of fact I have created a craft monster since she tells me several times a week “Let’s do a project MOM!” My youngest is finally at an age where we can start crafting with her too, but then comes the challenge of coming up with something a toddler can do that a preschooler will enjoy also… oh the challenges of a crafting mom. I hope to inspire other parents to craft and create things with their kids.
