My daughter has a large fairy garden and one of the things she likes to collect for the garden is keys. I thought a wind chime using all of the keys would be a nice addition to the fairy garden. It adds a little whimsy and brings out her inner tinker. It makes a nice sound in the wind too.
Start by getting a large metal ring, like the ones used in making dream catchers. I used twine, but you can use more chain to make a hanger for the ring. I tied 4 pieces of twine together, then tied each one to the ring. Next, I cut several different lengths of jewelry chains using several different types of chain.
Using the jump rings, connect the chains to large metal ring. Next attach the keys to the ends of the chains.
To hold the chains in place on the large metal ring, I used a dot of hot glue. It worked well so when the wind blows the chains do not all slide to one side.
