I love Halloween. While spooky is always in fashion this time of year, sometimes you need a cute spook to boost your spirits in the cooler fall months. This little ghost is lightweight, easy to make and just plain adorable.
- Air Dry White Clay
- Black fine tip permanent marker
- Seed bead
- Plastic Bead string or fishing line
Start by taking a piece of clay the size of a pea and mold it into a ghost-like shape. I used the eraser end of a pencil to help my daughter make the shape. We pressed the pea of clay onto the end of the pencil and molded the shape around it. This gave a nice rounded head and a long body. This also made the ghost hollow, so the clay will dry faster and the pendant will be very light.
Once the ghost shape has been molded, remove it from the pencil. Using the needle, pierce a hole in the top of its head.
Let the clay air dry. This took 2 days for a nice hard dry. Then use the permanent marker to dot the eyes on, and if you would like, add an “O” for the mouth.
Next, tie a seed bead in the middle of the clear string. Then string both ends of the clear line through the hole on the top of the head of the ghost. The seed bead is in the inside of the ghost holding it on to the string. This makes the ghost look like it’s floating.
Either use a lobster clasp to close the necklace or make it a long enough string to be tied and placed over the head.
