Create this cute gnome card using the ink resist technique to welcome someone home or to their new house. Who doesn’t love having a little gnome to greet them? This little guy needs a good home.
Begin by creating a 5” x 7” card base from green card stock (Super Value Card Stock used). Trim a piece of patterned paper to measure 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” (Botanical Specialty Paper Pad by K & Company).
Cut (Tonic Paper Trimmer used) a 4 1/8” x 6 1/8” piece of white card stock and rub a white crayon completely over the card stock.
Run the card stock through your embossing machine (Grand Calibur by Spellbinders used) using the Bricks and Bark Spellbinders Embossing Folder.
Now ink a brayer with red ink (Fired Brick by Ranger used) and roll it over the embossed piece. Reink the brayer as needed. The wax will keep the ink from going into some of the areas such as the grooves to create the resist.
Continue to add more color using black and orange inks (Black Soot and Marmalade by Ranger used).
Stamp all of the pieces from the Woodland Garden Party stamps by Inkadinkado in black ink onto white card stock.
Color each piece using colored pencils and fussy cut around them with a pair of scissors (Martha Stewart Precision Scissors used).
Ink the edges of the sign after cutting it out to give it a little worn look.
Adhere the shoe using a tape runner to the brick wall. Adhere the gnome using a 3-d adhesive so he stands out from the wall to give him some dimension.
Punch holes into each corner of the sign using a hole punch or Crop-A-Dile. Add brads to the bottom 2 corners and close them. Punch the top 2 brads through a piece of ribbon and close them to create the hanger. Punch a larger brad through the center of the ribbon and then through the wall and close it on the back. Adhere the piece to the card base.
This adorable little gnome is now ready to have a home with someone who is in your thoughts. Use it to congratulate someone for their new home purchase. No matter how you share him, it will be guaranteed that he will bring someone a smile to his or her day!
