Pony Beads are one of those craft staples that most parents of young kids have stuffed somewhere at the back of their craft cupboard. Well dig them out because they are useful for more than just simple kid-necklace making! So much fun! So many ideas! You might end up restocking that seemingly never ending box of plastic beads after all!

Melted Pony Bead Cake Stand from Ben Franklin Crafts

This is so fun! I love the look of the drippy beads and if you used holiday themed colors for your beads – orange and black for Halloween, red, white and blue for fourth of July, red and green for Christmas – you could have a whole array of colorful cake stands!

Pony Bead Suncatchers from Holly's Art Corner

These sun catchers are so pretty and so simple! I love the look of them and can just imagine a string of them hanging in my window! I might have to get my kids on these this weekend!

Counting Bead Fun from Mess For Less

This is a perfect activity for preschoolers who are just learning to count. I love the use of sparkly pipe cleaners (makes it more fun when you’ve got a girly girl like me!) and the fact that you can reuse it again and again. So smart!

What have you been up to with Pony Beads lately? Anything fun? Send your ideas our way! We love to see them! Check out these and other Pony Bead crafts on our Craft Trends Pinboard!

Love crafts with pony beads. Neat cake plate idea. We buy them by the bundle and just keep them hanging around for when kids come to the house. Love to craft with the kids. Thanks for the tips.
