Valentine’s Day will be bursting with love this year when you give this fun pop up card to someone special.   The focus of this card is actually on the inside so once the card is opened the joy and love of the day begins.

Learn how to make the Bursting Full of Love Card after the Jump…

Begin by cutting a card base (12 x 12 Super Value Pack used) that measures 7” x 10” and fold in half to create a card that measures 7” x 5”.  Lay it aside for later.

Trace

Taking a white piece of card stock (8 ½” x 11” Super Value Pack used) measure up from the fold (which is on the bottom in this picture) 1 ½” and make a mark.  Next, measure from left to right on the paper to find the center and mark the center with a dot.  Draw a line from left to right of the center that measures 1 ½” total in length.

Trim

Place the paper in your trimmer (Tonic V Blade Trimmer used) and begin cutting from the bottom fold up to the end of the 1 ½” line you created.  Move the paper over and line up the other end of that same line and again cut from the fold upwards to the line.

Fold

Now, place the paper on your scoring board (Martha Stewart Scoring Board used) and make a score mark in between the cuts you just made at the top and bottom of the cut lines.

Stand

Fold the paper closed making sure that the center fold line folds inward to the inside of the card.  Your piece will now look like this.

Border

Adhere the inside piece of the card to the card base using a tape runner.  Be sure to get the fold lines on both pieces tightly against each other.

Hearts

After printing the heart template out on your printer or creating one of your own, cut it out and trace it onto the back of your piece of patterned paper (Bo Bunny Smoochables used).   Cut the heart out of the patterned paper.

Tape

Put some adhesive on the heart making sure to place it up from the edge so that it can adhere to the pedestal on the card base, but will not stick to the rest of the card.  Place the heart on the pedestal piece.  Make sure it isn’t directly touching the bottom fold line on the pedestal or it risks having the point of the heart folded upward when the card is closed.

Punch

Cut several hearts in different colors of card stock (purple card stock and maroon from Super Value Pack used here) and adhere them around the bottom of the heart and around the edges of the white card base.  Use a tape runner for adhering these.

Stamp the word “Love” in black ink in between some of the hearts as shown in the pictures.

Decorate the front of your card with more of the patterned paper and more punched hearts.  Add some of the stickers from the Smoochables Collection by Bo Bunny for some more fun and love.
