Felt is one of those super versatile craft supplies that stretch into all sorts of categories of projects. And because it’s inexpensive and readily available, it’s especially good for kids crafts and kids play. Teachers have known this for years and have made good use of felt with the felt board and it’s many possibilities. Felt boards make great quiet time activities, travel well and are easy to expand to whatever theme your child is currently interested in. Just cut out the shapes needed and away they go.

I love this felt board project. Perfect for fun on the go and so easy to make!

Felt also makes an excellent material for all sorts of play items. Felt is easy to sew and glue even for kids, and is the perfect thing to expand make believe play time.

Felt balls, or felt beads are both a great play thing when finished and a fun sensory project to create with your child. The possibilities for color combinations are endless and the projects that they can be used for are equally wide. Marbles, necklaces, pretend candy or peas, felt beads are perfect for them all.
