The part of my hometown that I liked best was that it still had open spaces in it when I lived there. The city limit wasn’t just a line on a map, it was the edges of the town, beyond which were fields of growing things in front of the wild empty hillsides.

I still love my hometown – great schools, safe, surrounded by lakes and parks – close to lots of shopping and great restaurant choices

Very small (pop. less than 200). I can walk thru town, in the middle of the street, at midday and there is absolutely no traffic. But I’m only 7 miles from a larger city with anything I want as far as shopping, schools, etc…..

I love my hometown because it’s a small town, friendly, and yet has enough activities (for me).

I really liked that my hometown was small and had a lot of green space. It also had a lot of local shops.

I love my hometown for the people that never say die. Over the years our downtown area and all the locally owned businesses have see some rough times due to corporate retail stores and malls. But a group of people banded together and created a group called Fourth Fridays. Every fourth friday of the month they invite Artisans to sit in a participating small business to help promote that stores business and also to introduce the Artisan to the community. The Artisans can be from any genre of art, music, photographer, pottery, jewelry designer, etc. The group will be celebrating its one year anniversary this September.

My hometown has been rated the #1 place to live according to Businessweek Magazine. Raleigh, NC is an awesome place to live. We are just a few hours from the mountains and the ocean. Lots to do, great Colleges and college sports, very family friendly, good schools. Love the climate. It’s a great place to live.

I loved the small size of my hometown. With only 105 people in my high school class, it was great getting to know everyone. Most of us still keep in touch!

Loved growing up in a small town where everyone knows you. We could go anywhere without our parents and there was always someone we knew.

This always has been a small town. You know most everyone. I still live here! I think the familiarity of a small town can be a good thing….especially as we get older:)

We had a store down the street called Venture Market and everyone around used to say “I’m going to the little store”. That was the first thing that came to mind.

What i loved about my hometown the most was everyone knew everybody! It was litterly like living in Mayberry on the Andy Griffith show. Very small town (not even on most maps), but wether you went to the gas station or to the Piggly Wiggly, everyone knew you, always spoke and asked about your family, you could walk up and down the roads and not worry about being messed with, because every one looked out for each other. Though I dont live there any more, I visit frequent, and 25 years later, it is still exactly the same, and everyone still remembers me and asks how the rest of the family is. :)

I like my hometown because people care about each other and are willing to take time out of their busy lives to volunteer. Although it is a city, any time a request goes out for help there are always lots of hands willing to give whatever is needed.

Ilove my town joplin mo. when the tornado wiped us almost off the map every one was out helping each other and saving lives. And to this very day 15 months later we all are still here and rebuilding our town.It will take years to get it all done but it will be even better becase we all stand together we are family.

I liked how you could keep your doors unlocked, stay out riding your bike or playing and not worrying about something happening to yourself.

I loved the fact that it was a decent sized town, but it felt small, and was surrounded by farmland and beautiful countryside.

We grew up in the country, but we had had friends within walking distance. The crick (creek) and nut hill behind our house was where we loved to play!

The think I like best about my home town is the nice weather. It’s not too hot, but not too cold. Especially during summer, lol

I love the fact that I can still walk down the main street today and meet someone I went to school with 30 to 50 years ago. My family have been involved in this town for over a hundred and fifty years and I love that the town’s history and mine are intricately woven together. Isn’t that what home town means? Its your home, your roots, your base.
