As much as I love decorating my own candle holders, once they’re decorated that’s it; there’s no interchanging designs. Then I was introduced to the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Vellum Paper. It’s smooth and plastic-type surface allows you to interchange candle holder “covers” as you so desire. The covers are super easy to make and take mere minutes to create one you’ll love.
What you’ll need:
- American Crafts Dear Lizzy Vellum Paper
- Mod Podge
- American Crafts Dear Lizzy Accent and Phrase Stickers
- Round Candle Holder
Step 1: Line the paper flush against the base of the candle holder, then trim it as close to size as possible on the top while overlapping the ends by only an inch or less.
Step 2: Pull the paper as tight as possible, then use a few drops of Mod Podge to seal the ends together. Make sure it doesn’t stick to the candle holder.
Step 3: After the glue dries, hold the paper still while you use scissors to even out the rest of the excess paper on the top.
Step 4: Place a matching sticker onto the front of the candle holder.
Step 5: Put a candle in the candle holder.
What I love about this paper is that at any time you can pull off the candle holder cover you just made and interchange it with a different one without damaging it. It’s a great way to save money while still having the style you want.
