Last week…I usually take monthly road trips since most “good” craft/fabric/art supply stores are a ways away from where I am. My road trips usually end up being a full “day trip” with lots of retail therapy!

  35. judy :

  36. Carmen :

If you don’t count “short” road trips (~1 hr away), then my last roadtrip was a yarn shop hop about a month ago. We left the house at 8am and didn’t get back until 5pm. Since we’re in a sparsely populated area, the furthest shop was about 3 hours away. We had a great time, but I’m not sure I’d do it again.

I’m not counting the trips to visit relatives. The last road trip was to Branson, MO last summer. Actually, there were relatives involved, my sister lives in the area. And we also were able to see our son and his wife for a day as they were traveling back to Dallas. We saw many fun shows and attractions even though the temps were in the 100′s. It was a great trip. Normally we would fly but we drove from Minnesota and enjoyed the journey.

My last road trip was 2 years ago going from TN to CA to visit my family with my 2 kids. 3 and 1/2 days to get there driving all day long with few stops in between…well except to view the big cross in Texas which is so neat to not stop at and bathroom and hotel breaks. Alot of driving for one person but manageable if you keep on trucking. LOL Because the prize is at the end seeing your family and enjoying new memories.

Monday. To a national park. One last, albeit short, trip with DS, who was home from college for ever such a short visit. Very hot, but we could have gone anywhere and done anything and I would have been smiling just to spend time with him. Not sure how you define road trip, but it did take a bit of time to get there.
