Our room looks a lot like a dorm room. We can’t stand it but we are also on a budget. A new headboard is really expensive but those old moving boxes in the garage are free. This tutorial will guide you step by step and you too can make gorgeous headboard for under $20 with fabric, glue, and boxes!
Don’t forget to browse the clearance and red tag specials for extra savings on fabric!
What you will need:
- Fabric
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Boxes
- Spray adhesive glue
Directions:
Measure the space above your bed to determine how many boxes you wish to use and how many inches you want in between boxes. Cut the fabric to fit the box. Cover the box with spray adhesive and apply fabric.
Keep a firm grip on the box so the fabric doesn’t slip and wrinkle. Add more spray glue to the dry areas and fold the fabric around the box as if you are wrapping a present.
Repeat until the desired amount of boxes are complete. Measure and mark where you want the boxes to sit on the wall. Using spray glue, generously coat the back side of the box. Stick to the wall.
