Button Tree Card

While the ubiquitous family photo christmas card is great for most of the people in your address book (they would, after all, miss seeing those photos if your didn’t send them) there are always a few people who you want to give something extra special to each winter. Like the crafters in your life. And for them, this is a perfect little card. Simple, sweet and crafty. You can choose to sew the buttons on rather than using glue but you will need to line the inside of the card with paper to cover up the stitches.

Here’s what you need:

Buttons – 15 green and 1 brown – the greens should all be the same size

Craft glue

Card & Envelope pack

Red seed beads

Pen

1. Layout the green buttons in a tree shape on your card to determine the placement of the tree that you want.

2. Run a thin bead of glue around the back of the button, steering clear of the holes and glue each in place.

3. Glue seed beads into some of the button holes, keeping the pattern random to look like ornaments

4. Add a message under the tree and a note inside and send off to your favorite crafter!

very cute idea. Problem is I don’t have buttons…so I’m gonna use my small circle punches and use them instead…Thanks for the idea!!
