Recycled Wrapping

My love to wrap presents in recycled containers started for a few reasons:
1. I was in college and poor (this method is FREE)
2. It made me sad to throw away perfectly good, colorful, pretty boxes
3. I lived in tiny apartments and had no where to store things like wrapping paper
I have used all kinds of boxes including: cereal boxes (kids cereals are colorful, fun, and big enough to wrap a shirt), oatmeal containers, fruit snacks, cake boxes, jello boxes (great for jewelry), and downy sheets boxes.
Another fun option is a plain ‘ol brown grocery sack. Just cut it open to create a flat sheet and wrap up that used Uncle Ben’s rice container! Snazz up the package with some paper cupcake holders and a little ribbon! Just punch 2 holes in the cup cake holders to attach to the box!
Open up the pantry and I promise you will find all kinds of perfectly good containers just waiting to be gifted!

Certainly can’t remember the first, but I remember a very long, labor intensive one from my teen years. An afghan made of yarn daises all crocheted together with green yarn. I spent months on it, and thought it was beautiful. Sitting in a box now, not sure what to do with it…
