I was in the third grade and I sent a real special valentine to a boy that went something like “I like you. Do you like me? Check yes or no below.” My teacher intercepted it and posted it on the board for all to see. I was so humiliated and he checked “no”.
I got over him quickly and valentines day has gotten better over the years.

In fifth grade, I went on a 3- or 4-day vacation with my Dad to New Orleans. We left on Valentine’s Day. I was disappointed to miss my classroom valentine exchange, but the memories of my first Father-Daughter vacation are now very precious. It was the first Valentine’s Day that I truly had the undivided attention of a good man–the man who taught me what love should really be like through the way he treated my mom. This year, I will be celebrating my first Valentine’s Day is a married woman, and I can’t wait!

The one that stands out in my mind goes back many years. My hubby and I were going through a very hard time in our marriage> I did not know if we would make it to our next anniversary. On valentines day, I got up early for work ,he was still sleeping. I left a card for him. When I got to my truck he had decorated it with ribBons and hearts and a big card inside that said HONEY BE MY VALENTINE PLEASE AND THEN IT SAID IN TINY LETTERS (FAKE IT TILL WE MAKE IT).
I looked up and he was standing there with a smile on and nothing else !!
Well we lasted 27 years more..

I don’t remember my first but one of the most memorable was one I gave rather than received. Three months after their first grandchild was born, my parents reluctantly returned to their home in Florida. A week later my husband & I drove down, arrived on Valentine’s Day, put our daughter in her carrier in front of their door with a huge heart card, rang the door bell & hid. Needless to say, there were screams of joy & many tears when they saw her!

I do remember my first “real” Valentine. I was in 5th grade and his name was Tim; he got me a teddy bear with a Snoopy card. Inside he wrote, “I like how you play soccer with the boys at recess. From, Tim, aka’Joe Cool’”. Kind of adorable.

    I still have the bear!

My first memory is making Valentine cards for my class. I know now that we didn’t have a lot of money to buy cards from the store. But at the time all I remember was the fun we had making everything…even the ‘paste’ from flour & water. Even my dad helped that Valentine’s Day.

The first Valetine’s that I remember were cards and chocolates in heart shaped boxes from our grandmother when we were little. I would save the boxes to hold all my little trinkets.

I can remember my first Valentine. I believe I was in the 6th grade and a boy bought me a ring that said LOVE on it. I wore that ring so proudly, not knowing that he had bought another girl a ring just like the one he gave to me. I was devastated and I will never forget the look on his face when I gave the ring back to him. He was the one that lost in that game..hehehe

I still remember decorating paper lunch bags with red construction paper. My Mom always made it special with iced heart shaped cookies in our lunch.

I got my first Valentine when I was 9 from a boy called Richard who stuck a love heart sweet on the front of a piece of card. So far so cute. But he only went and gave it too me in front of the entire class at morning registration. I still remember how mortified I was, at the time I was of the opinion that boys were only good for playing football with.

My first Valentine was from my Mom. She always made a big deal about the holiday and made sure my sister had a special Valentine from her.

First valentine was of course from a cutest sweetest nerd in school and I was horrified and yet secretly in love back. And it became a nerd romance… 4th grade just wasn’t the same….

I saw the question stated above I know its starts with “your first valentine”but I would like to put in “Our”.If this disqualifies me,well so be it, I would still like to share this story. This was about several years back as I recall,We was going thru a hurdled & stressful financial time during the week of Valentines,of course, right?.My friends were boasting of “he went to Jareds” & 5 star restaurant attitudes.I dont think they were trying to hurt my feelings, and hell Im not materialistic ,if I can get thru without a ranch wreck or bovine number 9 on my boots,I had a great day!Anyway,my husband Bob wanted to make it special,so we drove to whats called the 100 mile view in Virginia City,Nv,we got out of the truck,he led me to where you can step out over seeing 100 miles hence the name,he said to me.”Life with a cowboy aint easy,Ive been alone a long time until I found a good woman, but I would rather have no else by my side,’cept you.would you marry me again,Catie?.He pulled out of his pocket a D-Ring,it was off of his bridle, and he promised me a real ring someday,we’ve been married 8 years, and to this day,I avoid going over to the jewelry counter of any retail store, dont need to,I got a one of a kind
    Thankyou
